GEDO #2 Program - General Education Degree Option #2

The GEDO #2 Program is an alternative education program for high school students who are at risk of not graduating from high school.

The following students qualities are considered before allowing enrollment in the GEDO #2 program:

  • Past student behavior
  • Ability to work in a self-paced environment
  • Strong desire to earn a high school diploma

Additional Requirements:

  • At least 17 years of age
  • One year behind peers in credits earned
  • Demonstrate an ability to read at the 9th grade level or higher
  • Participate in a formal meeting held prior to beginning the program

Requirements For Graduation:

Student must volunteer for the program. Contract is signed by the student, parent/guardian, GEDO #2 instructor, school counselor, and administrator.

  1. Attendance of 90% or better while enrolled in the GECO #2 program
  2. Passing scores on each of the five GED tests. An average score of 500 is required.
  3. Three credits in Civics or Civics Course
  4. Health Credit or Health Course
  5. Participation in field trips, testing, etc.
  6. Employability Skills Course
  7. Career Research Paper
  8. Resume
  9. Completion of the Senior Project
  10. In addition to coursework and passing the GED tests, the students must earn 100 points from this list
